The Shortest Distance is not always the Fastest Way
Sometimes you have to go slow to go fast + other paradoxical lessons from Taurus Season
Hello Beloved Community!
Have you heard of Fermat’s Principle of Least Time? What about the Brachistochrone Curve? Neither had I, but I saw the below video on instagram and it led me down a rabbit hole.
The most direct path is not always the fastest. Counterintuitively, the curved line gets the marble to the end the fastest.
When I first saw this video, it felt like an affirmation of my own inner wisdom; a physical representation of my own principles of energy.
Sometimes you have to go fast to go slow. Sometimes you have to go slow to go fast. And sometimes you have to get a little curvy with it.
Happy Taurus Season!
Did you know I am a Taurus?

I’m celebrating my birthday by sharing the fruits of my creative endeavors with all of you, including this set of photos taken on the winter solstice of 2022. I took these photos just days after my return to the United States from India.
I booked this photoshoot with Sass while I was in India. Their art captivated me, and I felt the potential for this photoshoot to support me in healing my relationship with my body and sexuality.
The photoshoot ended up being delightfully playful and unexpectedly integrative. Wearing Indian jewelry and clothing while boldly embodying my queerness and sexuality allowed me to bring together these compartmentalized aspects of my being. I am overjoyed with the results and am so glad to share them with you!
I am accepting blessings
As many of you know, I currently live in South Carolina, and it is taking a toll on my mental health. It is extremely stressful to be an intersex person living in the South these days.
I am planning a move to Atlanta and need your support to make it possible. I am hopeful that moving somewhere with more trans people will help me feel safer.
My family lives in the South and I grew up here. For me, and many people like me, moving out of the South is not an option at this time.
You can donate via Substack, my ko-fi, or through my above payment handles. Please do not share this request via social media, although you are welcome to share via email.
I am extremely grateful for all the support I have and continue to receive from all of you. Thank you for sharing my work, subscribing, reading, affirming, and commenting. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I am launching a podcast called Earthworm Slumber Party
I use podcasts to manage my ADHD and listen to them for hours each day. I have always dreamed of having my own podcast, so when my brilliant friend Nisha invited me to cohost, I was thrilled.
Our podcast is about exploring big ideas playfully. In each episode, one person tells the other a story from their culture or life.
I am so excited to share these episodes with y’all!! I know I’m biased, but all the episodes we have recorded so far are so good! We always end up talking about something that feels profound and unexpected to me.
I hope you will join us for our virtual podcast launch party!
This party will be taking place over zoom on May 15th 6 pm PST/ 9pm EST
This virtual party will be slumber party themed and we encourage you to come in your pajamas!
We will be sharing an episode from our show. We hope you can join us!
You can keep up with our show and donate here: https://ko-fi.com/earthwormslumberparty
Have you downloaded the Care Plan Creation Guide yet?
I created a free workbook to help you create a care plan. The workbook defines a care plan, offers a template, and has a filled-out example in the back.
Crisis, conflict, difficult emotions, and unexpected events are all inevitable parts of being human. We don't know when we might face these things, but we know that we will face them in the course of our lives.
Having a care plan allows you to identify your needs, communicate with your support system, and receive care. This care plan is a tool designed to help you and your community prepare for the unexpected.
If you follow this link you will find:
Two versions of the care plan ( a maximalist version and a printer friendly minimalist version)
A video tutorial on how to use the care plan
A somatic exercise to support you grounding after crisis
A youtube playlist to listen to while you fill out the care plan
A special testimonial from someone who has known me for seven years!
If you love the care plan, please share it with a friend. I want us all to have what we need to survive the storm.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING
P.S - IF YOU WANT TO SEE PHOTOS FROM THE WATERFALL I VISITED THIS WEEKEND VISIT MY KOFI
